Think Like a Missionary

Since we began planting this church, I've had a couple of interesting conversations with missionaries.

I spoke with one last week who served in Japan. He told me that what we're doing has a lot of similarities to foreign missions. The advice he was given? "The goal the first four years is just to survive," he said. He wasn't being pessimistic. His point is that starting a new ministry in an area where there aren't a lot of Christians takes patience and persistence, and that the early years can present some challenges.

Another missionary told me about his experience planting churches in a condo community in Venezuela. He told me to remember that I am in a sowing, not reaping ministry, and that it takes time to see results. In his case, it took seven years.

We are a family of missionaries who are in Liberty Village. I love what J.D. Payne writes: it takes a missionary mindset, not a pastoral one, to plant a church.

Please pray for us as we think like missionaries and serve the people of Liberty Village!

Your Donation Can Be Matched

We have some great news. A generous donor has agreed to match new gifts to Liberty Grace Church up to $20,000. That means that if you make a donation to us, your money instantly doubles.

Even better, the donor has agreed to honor this commitment for new monthly donations. If someone signs up to give $50 a month, they will match that amount so that it becomes $100 a month.

Would you consider making a donation, or becoming a monthly supporter, to help us take advantage of this generous offer?

Thanks for your support!
