This Advent, we have the opportunity to listen to a song that rose out of silence, the Benedictus in Luke 1:67–79. After centuries without a prophetic word, and months without a voice of his own, Zechariah finally speaks. And the first sound that breaks the stillness is praise.
But this song is more than praise; it is a doorway into Advent hope. Zechariah announces that God has come near; faithful to His promises, tender in His mercy, and ready to bring the world a gift it could never create on its own: peace.
In a weary world longing for calm, clarity, and rest, the Benedictus calls us to remember that true peace does not rise from within us or around us. It comes from above. It dawns. It visits. It arrives with Jesus, the Light who breaks darkness and guides our feet into the way of peace.
This Sunday, we will explore how the God who ends silence also ends fear, how His mercy brings healing, and how His Son brings a peace that holds steady even when life does not.
Join us 4 PM this Sunday; Come and hear the Advent promise:
Peace is not a feeling we chase, but a gift God gives.
We meet at 31 Atlantic Avenue!
Please Note;
December 14- After our Sunday service, we’ll take the joy of Christmas into the streets of Liberty Village through carol singing and we’d love for you to join us! This year, as part of our caroling, we’ll be visiting a community respite centre at 69 Fraser Avenue to bring warmth, hope, and encouragement to their guests. We’ll arrive at 6:30 PM, and the centre will be providing light refreshments, creating a space for conversation and connection. After our visit, we’ll continue caroling through a few intersections in Liberty Village before concluding at Liberty Village Park.
