Every person is a worshipper. The question is never if we worship, but whom we worship and how.
The story of Pharaoh reminds us that false worship isn’t just bowing to idols or following the wrong religion, it’s any attempt to approach the true God through distorted images of who He is. We may claim to worship Jesus, but when we reshape Him into a god of comfort, control, success, or self, we are no different from Pharaoh building his kingdom on his own terms.
False worship is not a harmless mistake; it’s rebellion against the God who alone deserves our devotion. Yet, even in judgment, God’s grace shines through. He exposes our idols not to shame us, but to call us back to Himself, the only One who can bear the weight of our worship.
Join us this Sunday at Liberty Grace Church as we reflect on Exodus 9:8–12 and hear the message: “The Illusion of False Worship.” Discover how the God who judged Pharaoh still offers mercy to hearts willing to surrender.
We meet at 31 Atlantic Avenue.
