Lament is not merely an expression of sorrow; it is a sacred gift—a divine invitation to bring our honest grief, confusion, and frustration into relationship with God. In the same way that a relationship becomes most precious during moments of deep pain—when a loved one offers a shoulder to cry on—lament is the language that sustains our relationship with God in the midst of suffering. It is not a detour from faith but an essential part of it.
At its core, lament assumes relationship. We don’t lament into the void; we lament to someone. When we cry out to God, we are expressing not only our pain but also our trust that He hears, that He cares, and that He can respond. Lament is what love sounds like when it's wounded. It is the heart’s way of saying, “I still believe You are good—even though I don’t understand what You are doing.”
Join us this Sunday at 4 PM as we explore the gift of lament through the story of Moses—a man who cried out to God in the midst of deep suffering and confusion. Discover how honest lament can draw us closer to God, even in our hardest moments.
We gather at 31 Atlantic Avenue
