This Sunday, we’re stepping into one of the tensions in the book of Exodus: the hardening of Pharaoh’s heart.
Was Pharaoh simply stubborn?
Did God harden him?
Or is the truth deeper… and closer to home than we think?
Exodus tells the story in multiple ways—Pharaoh hardened his heart, his heart was hardened, God hardened his heart. And behind each phrase lies a spiritual battle in the very center of a person’s will.
We will wrestle with the question the Bible won’t let us escape:
How can God be fully sovereign while humans remain fully responsible?
Paul revisits this mystery in Romans 9 not to confuse us, but to humble us. Because Pharaoh’s story isn’t just about a king in Egypt. It’s about the spiritual posture of every human heart.
We’ll see how Pharaoh tried to negotiate with God, cling to control, and confess without repenting and how these same patterns can harden our hearts today.
This is not just a story of ancient plagues.
It’s a story of God’s sovereignty, human accountability, and the mercy that still stands open through Christ.
Join us 4 PM on Sunday as we explore a truth that stretches our minds, confronts our wills, and ultimately invites us to surrender to the God who softens hearts and saves.
Come ready to think deeply, reflect honestly, and encounter the God who still speaks to hardened hearts today.
