William Carey is known as the "father of modern missions." In 1793, he travelled from England to Calcutta as a missionary. In 1809 he founded what is now known as Carey Baptist Church in Calcutta.

Greetings in the Name of our Matchless Saviour Jesus Christ!
On behalf of the members, Pastoral Staff and Deacons of the historic Carey Baptist Church we greet you on this historic occasion of the launch of Liberty Grace Church.
In the Spirit of Christ you have gone forth in obedience to be His witnesses and ambassadors in the great metropolis of Toronto and we salute you.
In the spirit of the Father of Modern Missions, William Carey - our church’s Founder, you are “attempting great things for God” and we commend you.
This is our prayer for you, that the Lord will bless Liberty Grace and cause His face to shine upon you and give you many moments of winning countless into the Kingdom of Christ.
