153 Days

Sunday, September 29 is exactly five months from today. It’s the day we have penciled in our calendar for the public launch of Liberty Grace Church. It’s the day we lay out the welcome mat and begin public worship services in Liberty Village.

A public launch isn't everything. In a sense, we've already launched our ministry in Liberty Village as we live and serve here. It is, however, a significant step in the planting of this church. Would you commit to helping us?

  • Please pray that we will make every one of those 153 days count as we build relationships and serve in Liberty Village.
  • Pray that we would be ready. There’s lots of work to do to get ready. We need the right location, equipment, and teams in place.
  • Please consider partnering with us financially if you haven’t already, so we can have the funding for this vision in place.

We want to launch strong. We appreciate all the help and prayer that we can muster. Thanks for your prayers and investment already in what God is doing here in Liberty Village.

Moving In

Missionaries do it. They don’t try to serve from afar; they move right into the community. That’s why we moved in last December. The great news is that others are making the move into Liberty Village so they can also live and serve right in the community.

Nathan and Sarah Fullerton are a couple who have a passion for urban church planting. This coming Saturday, they’re moving into Liberty Village to help us as we plant this church. Sarah writes:

Well, the long and the short of it is that He has, yet again, done more than we asked for, and has not only provided what we need for at least the next 6 months' living expenses, but also a townhouse-style condo that is in the same complex as Darryl Dash and his wife, Charlene (we will literally be able to yell at them from our balcony). This is great for fellowship, and ideal for the kind of community/relationship-building outreach that Liberty Grace is pursuing.
So in a very quickly passing 11 days, we say good-bye to the fields and the quiet (and the slow internet) of the Ontario Greenbelt, and move what's left of our stuff into a 3-story city condo. We love the city, we love the people of the city, and we're excited (and a little terrified) to be a part of what God is doing in Liberty Village, but it's going to be a big adjustment, especially for the kids (and therefore for us, too!). So we'd really appreciate your prayers for us as we make this move.

We have another couple also considering making this move. Please keep Nathan, Sarah, and kids in your prayers this week. It’s exciting to see people intentionally move in to live on mission with us.

What’s Up This Spring and Summer?

Our public launch in September is only part of what's happening:

  • We continue to meet as a Launch Community on Saturday nights at 7.
  • We have a number of community events planned: three community BBQs, farmer’s market, the Liberty Village After-Work party, and more.
  • We’re building relationships in the community through hospitality and participation in community events.
  • I’m continuing to share the vision of Liberty Grace Church in churches that are interested, from Timmins to Port Elgin to Toronto.

Please Partner With Us

Please pray for us. We need people to pray for this church plant, and we would be grateful if you add us to your prayer list and pray for us regularly.

Please consider joining us. We need good people who have a passion to help build a church community from the ground up, and to serve the wider community. Please contact me if you would like to join us, or if you know of anyone who may be interested.

Please partner with us financially. We are especially looking for individuals and families who will contribute monthly. In the life of an urban church plant, every dollar counts. Please prayerfully consider supporting this ministry that will pay eternal dividends.

You're always welcome to join us at one of our Launch Community meetings. Details are at libertygrace.ca.

We’re so excited about what God is doing, and we appreciate your interest and support. Please keep in touch and let us know how we can pray for you.
